Will you achieve your New Year's resolution?

Psychologist Prof Richard Wiseman has tracked hundreds of people as they have attempted to achieve their New Year’s resolutions. By comparing the techniques used by successful and unsuccessful participants, he has identified some of the most effective ways of achieving long-lasting change. This fun test uses this information to help assess whether the techniques that you intend to use will help you achieve your resolution.

The quiz involves eight of the most popular techniques used to achieve New Year's resolutions. Wiseman's research suggests that only some of the techniques are effective. To take the test, indicate whether you intend to use each technique, and then click the 'score' button.
